
Sílvia Roque is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Évora. She holds a PhD in International Relations and, since January 2025, has been a researcher at the Research Center in Political Science (CICP). Between 2008 and 2024, she was a researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. She was also a Visiting Assistant Professor in the master’s Program in African Studies at ISCTE-IUL (2017–2019). Since 2005, she has been working on research projects in the field of International Relations, particularly in Peace Studies and Feminist Studies. In addition to Guinea-Bissau and El Salvador—countries where she has concentrated most of her research—she has also collaborated on research projects in Portugal and Mozambique. Furthermore, she has worked with civil society organizations and international organizations in conducting studies, training, and cooperation initiatives aimed at understanding and reducing various forms of violence.
